Geotechnical Studies and Soil Investigation Specialist

Job Description:
The Geotechnical Studies and Soil Investigation Specialist is responsible for conducting geotechnical analyses to assess the properties of soil and rock, ensuring site suitability for engineering and construction project requirements within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role also involves providing engineering recommendations related to building foundations and infrastructure development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Geotechnical Studies:

• Perform soil and geotechnical field tests to evaluate physical and mechanical properties.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports, including analysis of bearing capacity, settlement, and soil cohesion.
• Supervise drilling operations, field sampling, and necessary laboratory testing.

2. Data Analysis and Interpretation:

• Use geotechnical software for data modeling and analysis.
• Assess geotechnical risks such as landslides, flooding, and soil stability.
• Provide engineering recommendations for foundation design, retaining structures, and suitable geotechnical solutions.

3. Compliance with Standards and Specifications:

• Ensure geotechnical studies comply with Saudi Building Code and international standards such as BS, ASTM, and others.
• Collaborate with governmental and consulting entities to deliver required reports and obtain necessary approvals.

4. Supervision and Coordination:

• Coordinate with civil and structural engineering teams to implement soil investigation recommendations.
• Work closely with contractors and geotechnical laboratories to follow up on testing and quality control.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in geotechnical studies and soil investigations.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, D3 Civil, AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in using field and laboratory testing equipment and interpreting results.
• Solid understanding of the Saudi Building Code and international soil and foundation standards.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to prepare technical report
