Environmental Studies Specialist

Job Description:
The Environmental Studies Specialist is responsible for assessing the environmental impacts of projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and contributing to the development of sustainability strategies and the conservation of natural resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Environmental Studies:
   • Prepare Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports for new projects.
   • Analyze environmental data and assess potential environmental risks.
   • Provide recommendations to mitigate negative environmental impacts.
2. Compliance with Environmental Regulations:
   • Ensure compliance with the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection (PME) and Saudi regulations such as the Environmental Law.
   • Follow up on environmental permits and prepare periodic reports for regulatory authorities.
3. Environmental Resource Management:
   • Suggest solutions to improve the efficiency of natural resource usage.
   • Develop plans for waste management and recycling.
4. Supervision and Coordination:
   • Collaborate with governmental bodies and companies to ensure environmental standards are implemented.
   • Provide technical and advisory support to engineering teams and development projects.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
• 3-5 years of experience in environmental studies or environmental consulting.
• Good knowledge of environmental legislation in Saudi Arabia and international standards.
• Proficiency in environmental data analysis software such as GIS or environmental modeling tools.
• Strong analytical skills and technical report writing abilities.
